INTERPRETERS-CLEWS
"Stu's image of a carnival rider rushing by seemed to grab me by the heart and fling me alongside. Having relatively recently left childhood and teenagehood behind, the photograph captures the wonder and bittersweetness of those years having rushed past. I was instantly taken back to the country fair held every year in the small town where we grew up, and reminded of the smell of cows and carny food, the rodeo and the showgirl competitions, and of course the shrieks and lights coming from the show rides. To me the person in Stu's image is not reaching out, but letting go. - Lily"
ARTISTS’ BIO
CLEWS is a fresh new project from sisters Lily and Grace Richardson; two Mollymook natives raised on the anthemic ballads of the '90s. Now based in Sydney, the two are singing big choruses and writing songs with harmonies sure to make your heart explode. The last couple of years have seen them tour with the likes of Portugal. The Man, Albert Hammond Jr. and Laurel, to name a few. With only a few singles under their belt the two have quickly become Triple J darlings, and take their candied grunge to new heights with each release.
